Tom Siebel, who sold his Siebel Systems to Oracle (NASDAQ: ORCL) for approximately $6 billion, is working in clean technology these days and has now formally launched his long-anticipated new company: C3. Siebel has raised a $100 million so far and now has products to demonstrate. In 2012, C3 reportedly launched a data grid analytics project for PG&E and was also engaged in a big data energy project with GE. In addition to C3′s commercial and industrial platform for PG&E, the company also has developed a residential energy efficiency program, which launched last week, said Siebel. The service is in development with Detroit Edison and Entergy.
